GET TO KNOW ME

Amber M

Hey, it’s me, Amber! Just wanted to give you a little run down on my story, and hopefully give you insight into why the hell you might want to listen to a word I have to say, in case you were wondering why you should.
I’m a social worker by day, mom of two wildly busy boys by night. I am an “unwife” (not married but partnered for the long haul) to an amazing guy who I am grateful for everyday of this life (because without him I would go bat shit crazy). I am a sister, a daughter, a friend and I’m more than positive, an enemy to someone out there in this great big world. But mostly, I enjoy just being ME.
I have been professionally involved in supporting families and children for over 8 years now after graduating from Central Michigan University in 2007 with my bachelor’s degree is Sociology (yep, I love to study people and why we do the crazy shit we do as a society). Over the years, in addition to my degree, I have also received such endorsements as Infant Family Specialist, Trauma Specialist and I am currently a certified Child Forensic Interviewer (sounds like a good time eh?? Trauma, screaming children and abuse? That’s why I need that partner I mentioned above to keep me sane!)
Work experience and training have led me to many self enlightenments along the way. But as the bulk of my professional work was done as a Parent Educator and in home visitor, I was able to get the bulk of my tool box filled with parenting techniques for helping families overcome parenting through a traumatic past, a chaotic present and/or an unknown future.
I have recently come to find that my passion and purpose in this life is to gather knowledge (mostly about self love, self healing and self care), connect with people in an effort to spread that knowledge, and empower those people I have connected with, to take their life by the horns and tame that wild beast.
And that is exactly what has brought me here to you. I hope you join us often. When you are feeling lost, hopeless, helpless or like you just need a friend to talk to. I hope you come here seeking knowledge to get yourself out of personal situations that you are tired of being in. I hope that you find the strength to fight whatever bull you are up against in this life, so that you may come out on the other side a little more healed every time you visit. Thank you for being here. May you be well.
